It was with great sadness that the NH Women's Music Festival organizing committee decided that we had no choice but to cancel the 2002 festival, which would have been our 9th consecutive year had we been able to proceed. We were already facing financial difficulties. But the final straw came when a local music venue announced that they would present an Indigo Girls concert on that very same day. That concert would most definitely create a major conflict and draw a large portion of our potential audience. If we had thought there was any chance that we could pull this festival off and somehow manage to break even, all hopes were dashed with this concert announcement.

Although we on the committee feel great sadness at having had to make such a decision, we know it is the correct thing to do. We also have already begun planning how to move out of this place and get things rolling positively forward. With some luck, some help, and some hard work, we can succeed!
